About the Role
The Dishwasher is an hourly, non-exempt position within the Food & Beverage / Kitchen department at HeadPinz and FastTrax Entertainment Centers across all locations. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe back-of-house environment by ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored. While supporting kitchen operations is essential, the primary focus of this role is sanitation, safety, and risk prevention.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sanitation, Safety & Risk Prevention (Primary Responsibility)
- Clean, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
- Follow all sanitation and hygiene standards in compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations.
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and correctly according to manufacturer and company guidelines.
- Monitor dish machine temperatures, chemical levels, and cleanliness to ensure proper sanitation.
- Immediately address spills, broken glass, or debris to prevent slips, trips, and falls.
- Properly handle and dispose of broken glass, sharp objects, and waste materials.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or maintenance concerns to management promptly.
Kitchen & Back-of-House Support
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas, sinks, floors, drains, and surrounding workspaces.
- Assist with trash removal, recycling, and grease disposal according to safety procedures.
- Support kitchen staff by ensuring a steady supply of clean dishes and utensils.
- Assist with basic kitchen cleaning tasks as assigned to support overall facility sanitation.
Teamwork, Training & Accountability
- Follow all written SOPs, cleaning schedules, and safety checklists.
- Participate in required sanitation, safety, and operational training.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding supply needs or safety concerns.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow sanitation procedures and safety guidelines consistently.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in wet, hot, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
